The clinical manifestations present in Mr. C.
Nurses must extensively evaluate the clinical symptoms of Mr. C’s illness to determine the best course of action for his treatment. Mr. C has a body mass index (BMI) of 45.1, suggesting that he is overweight. His fasting blood glucose level is 146 mg/dl, and he has a blood pressure of 172/98, as per his current presentation. For the past six months, Mr. C has complained of swollen ankles and difficulty breathing. There is a 30 mg/dL DHL level in Mr. C and a 1.8 mg/dL plasma creatinine level.
The potential health risks of obesity that are of concern for Mr. C
In Mr. C’s case, his symptoms point to several health issues, particularly hypertension. Obesity-related risk factors include hypertension, low-density lipoprotein, cholesterol, and blood glucose in Mr. C. That is a case where Mr. C will get a stroke or perhaps cardiovascular problems if he is not treated immediately (Golubnitschaja et al., 2021).
Why bariatric surgery is an appropriate intervention for Mr. C
It is reasonable to assume that Mr. C would choose bariatric surgery provided he had the proper assistance. According to studies by Xu et al. (2018), many patients who receive this procedure can maintain their weight decrease for a respectable amount of time. Bariatric surgery is the best option for Mr. C, a severely obese patient. Surgery has some negative consequences on mental state, but the positives outweigh the negatives in the long run.
Functional health patterns assessment
Elimination
Considering his objective data has no evidence of his digestive system, it’s impossible to tell whether Mr. C is experiencing constipation or diarrhea unless he has an abdominal disease that may be treated by medicine or elimination.
Cognitive-perceptual integration
Mr. C is interested in learning more about bariatric surgery due to his weight. That is because he is in pain and has to shed some pounds to feel better.
Relationships
Mr. C will require help while receiving bariatric surgery based on the evidence presented after the operation; this will make him feel appreciated and guarantee that he has someone to care for him. There is no evidence of Mr. C’s relationships in this case study.
Nutritional
It’s reasonable to infer that Mr. C isn’t doing anything to improve his diet or exercise regimen. He is overweight, putting him in danger of suffering a heart attack or a stroke. Consequently, he needs bariatric surgery, which will allow him to feel better and reduce health complications such as snoring.
Health care administration
Mr. C is well aware of the situation that his weight has placed him in and that he must have ...
