Analysis of Assessment Data
Areas for focused assessment
From the patient’s health history, there are several areas of strength. Her motivation to conduct regular physical exercises, follow a healthy dietary pattern, stick to her medication regimen, and avoid alcohol and other drugs has improved her health condition. Additionally, she possesses substantial qualities such as positive mindedness and optimism. She is financially stable and bears rigid Christianity principles. Her areas of weakness include the long-hidden depression that creates a soft spot in her. Her inability to openly talk about some of her experiences, especially childbearing, shows that she might still be stuck in a hidden depressive state.
Patient’s Strengths
The patient religiously conducts regular physical activity, which is crucial as it boosts one's metabolism and improves blood pressure (Singh et al., 2020). She is also very keen on her diet since good nutrition aids in lowering high blood pressure and maintaining a healthy weight. She avoids alcohol and drugs that may interfere with her body’s ability to fight illnesses and control high blood sugar and pressure. She takes her medications as prescribed and observes all the safety principles around her. She has a stable source of livelihood that involves her successful bakery, which helps her afford healthcare. She is positive-minded and humane, with her initiative to help the street children and psychologically unwell people. She bears strong Christianity principles that guide her moral obligations and responsibilities.

With this, any trigger or a repeat of such an occurrence can place her in a compromised health situation where she might suffer a relapse (Buckman et al., 2018). Her inability to speak out shows that the symptoms of depression may have been alleviated, but the illness was not completely cured.

Depression is an illness that needs practical and professional solutions to alleviate and cure the symptoms. The psychiatrist should help the patient accept any negative ordeal that happened in the past and move on. The patient also needs continuous follow-up and monitoring of her blood pressure and glucose levels. Through this, she should be continually educated on blood pressure and blood sugar management strategies to reinforce and instill more acceptance and und...
