The study by Keaton, McCann & Giles (2017) looks at older Thai and American individuals' age in-group and outgroup communication views to see whether self- and other-communication perceptions are linked to mental health outcomes. The participants' attitudes of themselves were measured using a four-factor, 11-item version of the Global Perceptions of Intergenerational Communication scale. Reading the paper, I realized that the literature review is thematic rather than chronological in that it did not follow a specific arrangement in terms of the years that the reviewed articles were published. Nonetheless, the review was arranged in themes, and the authors incorporated many articles which, when grouped together, effectively brought out the intricate details of the topic. Additionally, as Pyrczak (2017) argues, the literature review should show the author's selectivity. Evidently, the authors did not include irrelevant sources in the review, and they used specific and adequate references to support their arguments.
