The article tries to explain the problems faced by people when they are in their workplaces in order to succeed. It addresses all workers from the top down to the junior workers. However, the article addresses the issue of competition and how to recruit workers who will make the company or the organization reach great heights. In addition, it gives solutions to problems that people face when they are at their workplaces i.e. both the workers and their managers. The article also insists on writing a budget to help businesses move ahead and reduce excessive costs. The article is focusing on individuals who want to succeed in their businesses (Welch, 19). On the other hand, it explains the best workers who can make a company prosper. However, it explains the importance of having a strategy in any business as it acts as the direction of the business. Also, the article explains the issue of balancing work and personal matters. Another problem that is being faced by many employees is lack of promotion. The article explains what one should do to attract promotion. It also gives solutions to individuals who work with bad bosses and how to cope with the situation.
Three major learning outcomes for the business practitioner
One of the central pillars of the business practitioners is leadership (Welch, 99). Effective leadership ensures that the business flourish and achieve its goals. However, the managers of every business should ensure that they hire employees who are competent and can help the business realize its goals. They should employ employees who are able to solve problems and make things work and who are result oriented. According to Welch (p. 107) there are four leadership traits that should be exhibited by all business practitioners. One is that a leader should have a lot of positive energy in order to be able to push for reforms. Secondly, a leader should be able to energize other people. He should be in a position to inspire his/her subordinates and encourage them to aim higher as the sky is the limit. He should encourage the employees who are under him/her to be peaceful and cultivate for democracy. Thirdly, a leader should be able to make concrete decisions and avoid maybes.
