According to Laundon and Traver (2013), E-commerce is the electronic conduct of business over the internet. Before you can develop or build an e-commerce site, you must first determine your ultimate goal. When you search on Google, you will find a few successful websites, with e-commerce aiming to be the internet's comprehensive one-stop wedding planning solution. After determining your objective, you must determine where the money will come from and how your business will produce revenue. You will also need to know who the audience is and where they will be coming from. The characteristics of the market you are entering will determine the success of your firm. Next, conduct a swot analysis (SWOT) it describes your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. E-commerce has evolved from a desktop-only activity to one that includes mobile and tablet devices. Firms must consider the four main types of presence and the platforms and activities connected with each type of presence while developing an e-commerce presence.
Simple websites can be constructed and hosted for $5,000 or less in the first year if all of the work is done in-house by you and those willing to work for free (Laudon & Traver, 2013). After you have formed a vision for the e-commerce presence you want to create, it is time to consider creating and implementing it. Systems selection the infrastructure of an e-commerce presence includes software and hardware in addition to telephony. Even though many firms now outsource their e-commerce infrastructure to cloud providers, having a fundamental understanding of the underlying software and hardware components that make up that presence is still critical.
