Donald Trump's ascendance to the US presidency changed the political debate both in America and the world. All odds stood against a Trump presidency when he vied against Hilary Clinton in 2016. Trump had amassed an image of technocrat that was not popular among Americans. Upon his ascendancy to the presidency, the political and economic debate in the US changed with more insights invested in understanding the changes in the nation's political trajectory. In his publication, The New Class War: Saving Democracy from the Managerial Elite, Michael Lind discusses how a traditionally dormant democratic faction has changed its tactics to revitalize the political trajectory both in the US and Europe.
