Article Summary
Main points of the article
Antonio Zadra and Robert Stickgold’s Theater of the Mind is an article that focuses on discussing dreams, including the different theories that are related to them and the association between dreams and people’s memories. Remarkably, the NEXTUP Model is a relatively new proposition that allows for investigating the networks related to the dream to comprehend its possibilities. This model designates dreaming as a unique form of memory dispensation. In this model, the dreams are known to have a peculiar connection with the previous dreams. However, an unexplored area needs to be strengthened to understand this connection (Zadra and Stickgold).

Surprisingly, dreams have a usual theme, including being chased, a tooth falling, and even sexual experiences. Cultural differences and gender were also considered in the article, which results in different prevailing dream subjects and themes (Zadra and Stickgold).
According to the article, dreams are often seen as a bad omen when it is not a pleasant one, implying that misfortunes will somehow happen to the dreamer, but bad dreams are shared. Many dreams require solving issues or inevitable mishaps with no real link to a person’s real but may be indirectly associated with what the dreamer is thinking of or worrying about (Zadra and Stickgold).
Research methods and results

This article dives into dreams being an individual's adaptive function to deal with trauma or prepare to overcome possible threats. This is even made complicated by the presence of remembered and unremembered dreams, questioning its impact on people ad reality. The research methods done were more on observational trials, experiments, surveys, and interviews. These are effective methods, especially for vague and broad topics such as dreams. The appropriate method ...
