Some of the factors that determine the credibility of an article are the use of varying opinions to support ideas. This portrays the degree of consistency in the article. This paper examines an article to identify the unique representation of the argument concerning the gender pay gap and how it affects women. The paper commences by illustrating the ideas presented in the article and ends by providing the elements of a strong article.
The article by Nicki Lisa Cole talks about the gender pay gap and its impact on women. The paper talks about the Paycheck Fairness Act that was voted down in the Senate by Republicans. This bill aims to address the pay gap between men and women who have persevered. This bill would allow punishment imposed on employers who react in contradiction of workers for distributing evidence about pay. The bill also aims to provide workers the right to sue for compensations if they experience favoritisms and make workers accountable for gendered wage variances. However, the bill is opposed by the Republican National Committee since it duplicates the Equal Pay Act, and the national pay gap is based on women working in lower-paying fields and not because of gender. Therefore, the author clarifies the difference between these opinions based on gender.
