Thebaud and Pedulla 2016 Masculinity and the Stalled Revolution
Thebaud and Pedulla argue that policies promoting work balance family policies and gender equality in the workplace and homes influence women more than men as men tend to be more rigid. In addition, culture influences perceptions on the role of women in society, and men are more likely to endorse beliefs that promote gender norms. The researchers support their viewpoints by evaluating the effect of work policies and how they influence men and women's likelihood to support egalitarian arrangements. Institutional support for gender equality is essential to promote egalitarianism, but men's behaviors and choices are closely linked with how other men behave.

Yet if the is more support for egalitarianism among some men, other men are more open to gender equality policies.
Question: How do traditional gender norms explain gender inequality in the workplace and homestead?
