Victor Stevens et al.’s “Randomized Trial of a Brief Dietary Intervention to Decrease Consumption of Fat and Increase Consumption of Fruits and Vegetables” tested the computer-assisted counseling intervention efficiency to reduce diet-related cancer risk (Stevens et al., 2002). Although the study succeeded, it would not have relied on self-reported data and the low minority enrollment. Moreover, the counseling session time would have been increased to sixty minutes as opposed to forty-five minutes.
1. The evaluation design used was a randomized trial. Participants were randomly selected to receive either an attention control or dietary change intervention.

The advantage of providing a breast self-examination (BSE) to women assigned to the comparison group was to counsel them about the importance of conducting regular BSE tests (Stevens et al., 2002).
