Perception of Heath care providers about COVID-19 and its vaccination in Saudi Arabia.

Problem statement

Since the covid-19 pandemic began, Saudi Arabia reported 539,698 new infections and 8,431 deaths that were covid-19 related (Alhofaian et al. 2021). Since the covid-19 vaccines were invented, less than half of the Saudi Arabia population has been vaccinated.

Research questions

1 How does the health care provider's perception about covid-19 affect the number of people being vaccinated?
2 Is there a relationship between the health care provider's beliefs on covid-19 and population vaccination?

Hypothesis

Healthcare providers' perception about covid-19 directly impacts the Saudi Arabia population's rate of being vaccinated.

Identify Variables and Type of Data for Variables

The variables for the research were; the level of education, attitude, age, years of clinical practice, region, beliefs, and gender. The participants in the study were pharmacists, nurses, dentists, and physicians. The participants had to be 18 years, and above, must have completed their studies and practiced their professions.

The population of Interest for Study

According to a report by the united nation, the population size for Saudi Arabia is over 35 million. The study intends to find the relationship between health care perceptions on covid -19 and vaccination rate in Saudi Arabia.

Sample

The study was conducted from different parts of Saudi Arabia, and a population of 390 participants was involved in the study (Alhofaian et al. 2021). Only seven members did not complete the survey from this population size.

Sampling Method

The sampling method used for the study was convenience sampling. In this case, individuals who participated in the study were available and were willing to participate in the study.

Identify Data Collection

The data collection method used was the use of questionnaires.

Summary of Data Collection Approach

The data collection for the study involved two parts. The first part of the questionnaire involved six factors about the socio-demographic identities of the participants like years of professional experience, gender, region, age, profession, and level of education. The other part of the questionnaire was based on a validated scale, "Exposure Risk Assessment in the Context of Covid19," used previously in other research to study health providers' perceptions (Alhofaian et al. 2021).
