The article "Crossing U.S. Borders While Pregnant: An Increasingly Complex Reality" written by Amy Reed-Sandoval addresses why women travel to other states or countries to get safe abortions. The article begins by explaining how pregnant women from Ireland travel to other European countries to abort their pregnancy lawfully. Even in the United States, a country known for extensive investment in healthcare, Reed-Sandoval claims that there are no adequate abortion resources, which forces Americans to travel to other countries. The article notes that women forced to commute far distances to seek abortion services are at an increased risk of experiencing serious medical problems such as blood clots. The article further notes that the war on abortion drives a growing number of women to take extreme measures yet their rights are stated and guaranteed by the constitution. Reed-Sandoval concludes her article by arguing that fixing the relationship between border policy and access to reproductive health services is urgent for women's safety.

The article “HIV Preexposure Prophylaxis for Female Sex Workers: Ensuring Women’s Family Planning Needs Are Not Left behind” written by Bowring and her research team was published in the Journal of the International AIDS Society in February 2020. The article begins by claiming that family planning should be incorporated into PrEP programs because of the devastating health and social effects of accidental pregnancies. The article further laments the little attention that condom migration and STI risk has received from researchers and governments despite the many concerns surrounding the issue. Bowring and her research team suggest that the integration of family planning into PrEp programs should target low and middle–income communities because they pose a substantial risk of accidental pregnancy. To gain further understudying of women’s rights, the article proposes a study that tests whether combining contraceptives with PrEP reduces the rate of unplanned pregnancies. Bowring and her research team conclude by arguing that the results of such studies can be used to provide robust SRH programs that respect both women's SRH needs and reproductive rights.
