In this discussion, the Congress was deliberating on the aftermath of the Great Recession. First, it was noted that the country was making a recovery and a strong comeback after the recession. In the last two quarters of 2009, the country had managed to make strides in the right direction. While jobs had been created, it was widely felt that millions and not thousands of jobs needed to be created. Different policies were floated including slashing of the corporate income tax to stimulate the creation of jobs. It was unanimously agreed that the country needed to move forward and avoid making the same mistakes it did before the Great Recession.
