Two articles from below for my Annotated Bibliography for this assignment
REVISION INSTRUCTIONS
Please revise the two articles in the format of the following example: Pengpid, S., & Peltzer, K. (2019). Sedentary behaviour, physical activity and life satisfaction, happiness and perceived health status in university students from 24 countries. International journal of environmental research and public health, 16(12), 2084. Purpose Statement: This journal entry is trying to distinguish whether or not sedentary behavior leads to a more fulfilling life in comparison to those who are physically active. Summary Statement: Through a cross-sectional data analysis looking at over 12,000 students and using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire, Pengpid and Peltzer were able to clarify the truth behind the correlation of more physical activity leading to a more satisfactory life. Audience Statement: This article tries to answer all the questions and appeals to people who are deciding what type of lifestyle in college they should have or provides evidence for institutions like different universities as to why they should be encouraging a more physically active lifestyle. Unique Feature Statement: Not only did it show that physical activity correlated with greater happiness and life satisfaction, but also the fact that there was a negative association with age and life satisfaction. Therefore, showing this hidden side to possibly aging that I never had perceived before. Strength, Weakness, or Bias Statement: One of its most obvious strengths is the fact that its a crosssectional study that includes a huge amount of data in order to support its argument from countries all over the world. But one of the problems with this, is that it doesn’t go in-depth and provide validity scales or any measures to check whether or not the answers provided aren’t falsified because they are given through self-reports. This is heavily biased towards the convenience samples it takes, as the only age group included is that of university students so their argument can’t necessarily be generalized. Reflective Statement: This study emphasizes the importance of certain dimensions of wellness such as that of physical wellness, and through this it shows how life can be better for those who take care of that specific dimension. As it shows how it can leak over to other dimensions like mental wellness, and how by promoting just one dimension you can elevate others as a whole.

Patrick, Y., Lee, A., Raha, O., Pillai, K., Gupta, S., Sethi, S. ... & Moss, J. (2017). Effects of sleep deprivation on cognitive and physical performance in university students. Sleep and biological rhythms, 15(3), 217-225.
Purpose statement: The study aims to investigate the impact of sleep deprivation on university students’ physical and cognitive aspects. Summary statement: Using a randomized controlled trial, the sixty-four participants are categorized based on their sleeping patterns, normal or deprived for one night. The results of the outcome measures were analyzed using MANOVA and two-tailed t-tests, revealing a significant effect on physical but no difference on cognitive performances. The thinking and memory of a student do not reduce due to sleep deprivation. Therefore, a student needs to focus on increasing physical well-being by getting sufficient and quality night sleep. Audience Statement: The study addresses the concerns of educators and university students on their well-being while attempting to excel in school. Unique feature statement: No unique features were observed as the study did not compare courses, ages, or genders (Patrick et al., 2017). Weakness and bias statement: Since the variable only investigates those who were sleep-deprived for one night, the results only apply for a short-term period without analyzing the chronic effects of sleep deprivation. This might be a factor why cognitive performance did not have significant affectation. Moreover, it was conducted in an uncontrolled environment, making the results quite biased. Reflective statement: The results are important in university students, who are mostly, on top of sleep-deprived, are also chronically stressed.
