Modified Widman flap and non-surgical therapy using chlorhexidine chip in the treatment of moderate to deep periodontal pockets: A comparative study. Journal of Indian Society of Periodontology, 14(4), 252. The purpose of this experimental study was to investigate the effective way of treating periodontal pockets between the Widman flap surgical procedure and non-surgical procedure of scaling and root planning (SRP) by comparing the two. Inclusion criteria included subjects who were in good general health, the subjects were to have been diagnosed by severe periodontitis and demonstrating bleeding on probing and they were to have at least a minimum of 15 teeth. Exclusion criteria included participants who had unknown medical history on systematic diseases, allergies or drug use.
