Veterinary Medicine
Animals have always piqued my interest since I was a child. Their honesty, loyalty, and constancy are only surpassed by their beauty and ability to console me. I took a life biology course in high school and realized that veterinary practice was my real destiny. I found that my fascination with animals extended much beyond their beautiful and cuddly features throughout this training. Now that I am pursuing my veterinary medicine course at the university, I cannot fathom my life without veterinary school.
Pets do not hold grudges. Aside from abused pets and have reason to be afraid of their caretaker, they forgive and forget almost immediately. Try finding a human you’ve wronged who no longer remembers the incident, even if they’ve forgiven you. Pets are easily pleased. A pat, a smile, a kind word, an invitation to snuggle, a nap together send pets into bliss. Watching them and interacting with them teaches us to appreciate the simple pleasures: a cool drink of water, an afternoon nap, the breeze coming through the car windows, a good meal, a hug, playing a made-up game with no rules, and time spent together in silence. Becoming a veterinarian requires much in the area of formal education and official licensing. It also requires many different qualities in the veterinarian as an individual. They need to understand further that the animal's well-being is not their only involvement; veterinarians have to consider the owner's state. Although these are all things that must be learned, no one has the knowledge needed to become a veterinarian right from the start. Pets do love their owners unconditionally. I love my dogs because they bring happiness into my life. It makes me happy to see them playing in the yard or when they sleep with their heads on me. I feel happy that I can provide comfortable shelter, good food, medical care, and a stimulating environment to the three adopted rescue dogs in my home. It makes me happy that they trust me, even after surviving abusive situations. It also means that I’m willing to sacrifice a nice vacation, getting a new car, and refreshing my wardrobe when my dog needs good medical care. For such a reason, my completing vet school will position me strategically to take good care of their health.
Veterinary medicine is a passion for the science of animal care and treatment. This is in line with the compassion for pet owners and the dialogue with them. Because these animals are unable to communicate in the same way that humans do, doctors must rely on the abilities of the owner to recognize and ascertai...
