Introduction
Patient monitoring is a basic activity in any hospital setting. The utilization of technologies in the patient monitoring have helped the practitioners in understanding and automatically recording patient conditions with the appropriate recommendations. Electrocardiographic (ECG) monitoring in hospital settings have expanded their monitoring of simple heart rates to monitoring complex conditions in the body. Other elements of monitoring under hospital care setting has been underutilized so much due to factors such as the lack of training by professional in the sector. Drew et. al (2005), came up with a paper in which they analyzed their opinions based on their professional experience and research on the field to come up with the appropriate standards and procedures. In their article the authors have presented a critical view of all the processes and types of medical complications and how they should be dealt with when the practitioner is monitoring patient health. Computerized monitoring can be accurate but it requires understanding and interpretation of the professional for it to be effective in helping in patient monitoring.
