Is television one of the worst interventions of modern times, or is it of benefit to contemporary society?
Television is a common household item, which represents one of the 21-century advancements in technology. The role of television in our current society raises controversial questions and concerns. Is television presenting any benefits to contemporary, or is it hurting the communities? This topic is a highly contested theme embodied by the clash of perceptions. If it is harmful, why are many homes spending dollars to acquire television to place their sitting room, restaurants, and entertainment joints, among other many places of human habitats? Is there evidenced suggesting benefits stand to gain from watching television? This paper argues that society has derived immense benefits from television sets, which overrides the few shortcomings associated with this TV set. Of course, no item, concept, phenomenon, nor idea lacks limitations. Everything on earth has its strengths and downsides. Thus, the TV set brings substantial benefits to contemporary society and can equally cause harm.
