In the “Book of J,” the Bible is treated as both literature and Scripture, and the biblical writer J or Yahweh highlights the sacred history of many of the figures, who have flaws but still play an important role in the lives of ancient Israelites. A promise to bless Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are linked to the strong identification of Jews to their ancestors, but the figures are not without flaws as Hava defied Yahweh. The stories of the Exodus move to Egypt and the Sinai and these are the events that made Israel and the People of God take place: the departure from Egypt, the passage of the Red Sea and the Alliance of Sinai. The memory of these events was recorded forever in the memory of Israel and became the very foundation of their faith.  In the first five books of the Bible, the most prominent  Hebrews  had moral failings, but also understood right from wrong.
The Book of J’s version of the Adam and Eve story is similar as God took out the first man he created and his wife Hava out of the Garden of Eden after Hava disobeyed him and they had to escape (Book of J 65). The study of creation first highlights that there was a clear difference between good and evil, which is the basis for judging moral character.  The norms developed for appropriate behaviors are linked to human nature on what is right, and norms also differ from one society to another. Among the Israelites, morality was codified with the adoption of laws, and the source of morality is the Supreme Being since a direct relationship with J, the source life, is associated with a longing for honesty, doing good and acting right. 
Yahweh is the only true God, who does not tolerate rivals in the Bible, but in the book of J, he is shown to be different. The holy books elevate humanity to a higher level, and the expectation is that there was clarity on what was expected of the ancient Israelites. Even though the people mentioned that the Book of J had flaws, but moral development and seeking God’s way brought them closer.
