As a leader, a Senior Warrant Officer needs to study military history in breadth, depth, and context. The importance of studying military history in breadth, depth, and context cannot be overemphasized, especially in modern times. Military history always serves as a starting point for military leaders who happen to be at the core of decision-making (Gustavson, 1955). The study of history has been known to influence the formation of critical theories of action and solution. The formation of theories then leads to the formation of important reference doctrines. These doctrines, in turn, stimulate transformation which then demands invention. Lastly, invention when applied to revolution in military affairs causes historic effects.
