INTRODUCTION
  1. Attention Getter:  Women who participate in what is often referred to as "man's sport" face the most discrimination. Women's sports are pale in comparison to men's sports both physically and financially. Male players receive 179 million US Dollars more in athletics scholarships every year than female athletes, according to the Women's Sports Foundation.
  2. Connect Topic to Audience: Gender discrimination is not a huge issue in today's society, but I'd want to talk about the psychological effects it can have on women's and men's self-esteem. There are many stereotypes based on gender discrimination, and I'd want to dissect many facets of gender segregation in sports. I'd also like to stress out that being a male or female does not automatically entitle a person to engage in various sports, but it does if they have the physical and psychological willpower to do so.
  3. Establish Your Credibility: Did you know that gender discrimination in sports was outlawed in all publicly sponsored schools in 1972? "Title IX" is the name of the law that was applicable in that regard, according to a study by Katz & Luckinbill (205). The goal of Title IX was to achieve higher parity amongst men's and women's sports funded for through school money because there was, on average, 5 male-focused sports for every one supplied to females. In the United States nowadays, 60% of males and 40% of females participate in sports. In addition, approximately 6 to 8% of women's sports records are available in sports media. In the sports section of the newspapers, only 3.5 % of women's athletics are women-exclusive sports. That tells you how underrepresented female sports are in the media.
  4. Thesis Statement: Although it is illegal for a sport to discriminate on the basis of gender, it nonetheless occurs and is quite prevalent in our society. When a good team wins frequently, attendance for women's sporting events increases.
   V. Preview Main Points:
  1.  Athletics have been primarily a masculine sport over a long time.
  2. For long, females were thought to be weak or too sensitive, whilst males were thought to be aggressive.
  3. Sports have had to change rules to ensure that the competition is fair and that all participants are treated equally.
Transition Statement: For a long time, athletics was primarily a masculine sport. More and more women are participating in masculine sports as society changes and women change the stakes of how things are done. According to the article "Changing Sex/Gender Roles and Sport," sex and gender roles are mostly based on stereotypes. Also, females are thought to be weak or too sensitive, whilst males are thought to be aggressive. The statements may be true, but currently, females are continuously engaging in more aggressive sports like wresting and mixed martial arts, amongst others. Sports have had to change rules to ensure that the competition is fair and that all participants are treated equally according to Katz & Luckinbill, (22). Many people nowadays believe that dividing men and women into various a...
