In the United States, there are more than 46 million young individuals, out of which 16 million are growing up without a mentor (Youth_Mentor, 2020). Among the 16 million, the largest age group consists of 10-years-olds and younger, which implies that children are raising children. This is an important statistic because it shows that many youths are growing up without guidance from older and experienced individuals in society, resulting in far-reaching societal consequences. Each One Can Reach One is a mentorship organization that seeks to reach youth without mentorship through a philosophy that allows every individual to mentor at least one youth.
