In the past decades, the world has witnessed one of the most unprecedented changes in the way everyone communicates with one another through globalization and the internet. Due to its inception, boundaries between ideas, culture, and tradition that have once kept them isolated, have been overcome through the exchange of information that happens in a light-speed manner. On the one hand, this has become beneficial for everyone since previous divisions of unity, based on cultural misunderstandings, have been bridged. In the work of Appadurai, an Indian-American Anthropologist, he named five ‘scapes’ that were born out of the advent of globalization (and consequently the internet), namely; (1) ethnoscapes, (2) mediascapes, (3) technoscapes, (4) financescapes, and (5) ideoscapes (Appadurai, 1996). All in all these five describes the flow of information these days, leading to a more homogenized culture as compared before.
