Upcoming Refugees and Increasing Criminal Rate
Introduction
Canada is one of the developed countries known for welcoming, assisting, and supporting refugees to resettle. The Canadian government works in close collaboration with other relevant organizations such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to identify and scrutinize individuals who have been displaced from their countries of origin and need help. In particular, the refugee process of screening is multi-staged and thorough to prevent people with ill motives from crossing the country’s border. Canada prioritizes national security when scrutinizing refugees to be resettled. Although a few studies have been done to show the relationship between the influx of refugees in Canada and the increasing crime rate, Canadians presume that these immigrants pose security challenges. However, these allegations are not supported by credible evidence since Canada continues to welcome immigrants and refugees.
Preliminary Thesis Statement: The increasing rate of crime in Canada is not attributed to the upcoming refugees in the country.

The primary idea of the book is to show how refugees assimilate to the new way of living in Canada and other places where they are resettled. These individuals are naпve, particularly before they get used to their new environment. Many of them have the desire to fulfill their dreams, which were tattered due to war in their motherland. As such, their primary objective is to utilize the opportunity they get from their host to do constructive things in their lives. Besides, the Canadian government supports refugees by giving them monthly stipends so that they can cater to their necessities before they adapt to the country and get something to do. Barsky’s book relates to my topic since it reveals how refugees get used to the Canadian lifestyle and whether or not they are likely to be engaged in criminal activities. As such, this source is significant in my research since it depicts the behaviors of refugees when they are resettled in a new country. The book is reliable since the author gives credible evidence to prove his arguments.
