First of all, the main problem of homeless people is housing, they usually live on the roadside or in subway stations, the government can provide appropriate housing assistance; secondly, homeless people usually have no economic resources, most of them beg for a living, the government can create some simple jobs to provide them; finally, some homeless people have mental illness and violent tendencies, which may pose a threat to the lives of citizens, the government must act to protect the personal safety of New York citizens.

The problem of homelessness has been a major problem for New York City government and residents. Especially after a three-year-long epidemic, according to New York 2022 statistics that " the number of homeless New Yorkers sleeping each night in municipal shelters is now 14 percent higher than it was 10 years ago" ("Basic Facts About Homelessness").This markers " homelessness in New York City has reached the highest levels since the Great Depression of the 1930s" ("Basic Facts About Homelessness").
