Research Paper Instructions:

Then do an Internet search to find some websites about the topic you have chosen and choose one that looks interesting. If your search does not turn up anything, then select another topic. After exploring the website, answer the following questions:
Why did you choose this particular site, i.e., pictures, interesting quotes, etc.?
How is the site related to the topic we are currently studying?
Describe (in detail) three interesting things you found there and explain why you find them interesting. (Do not just list three things. Discuss them. I want to see what you learned and that you understand what you are reading. Stringing together random facts is not acceptable.)
Who is the most interesting person you met (read about) during your search and why? (This should be a detailed response.)
What is the most important thing you learned from the website? (Do not include vague ideas such as, “If you persevere, you can achieve anything.” Show that you learned something about your topic.)
These essays should include the title and web address of the site at the top of the page.
You must use a credible Internet source for this assignment. Sites such as Wikipedia, Boundless.com, Spark Notes, AP Study Notes, Cliff Notes, any encyclopedia website (such as Britannica, etc.), textbook publisher websites, Answers.com and others like them are not acceptable sources. Why did you choose this particular site, i.e., pictures, interesting quotes, etc.?
I chose the Dissent Magazine as there is review of Jacqueline Rose’s “The Last Resistance” by Ben Gidley and mention of her name by other writers in the site. However, Ben Gidley has commented on Jews, anti-Semitism, racism and leftist politics and he may focus too much on certain viewpoints.
How is the site related to the topic we are currently studying?
The chosen article not only reviews the book, but there are Ben Gidley’s past articles and mention of Jacqueline Rose who advocated that Jews search for their Jewish identity if it is positive. There are different articles on Zionism and politics exploring the case for and against support for Zionism.
Three interesting things 
Rose highlights the case for psychoanalysis, to understand politics and this is interesting thepolitical criticism is based on understanding theirfeelings, memories and desires. Rose claims resistance to bad things, but the book is repetitive as she deals with the same themes over and over again without varying them. Through a psychoanalytic reading of Jewish nationalism, the author supposes that Jews have a fractured psyche. The interrogation of assumptions on Zionism and reexamines the meaning of beingJewish,for those who does not necessarily support Zionism and Jewish nationalism. 
The Jewish psyche is one form of collectivepsyche that may be useful to understand the unconscious   thoughts of the Jews based on their history. Gidley (45) and challenges the idea of a collective psyche by arguing that there is no single Jewish psyche, but rather many as Rose supposes that the Jewish community is homogenous by using the term Jewish psyche.   I learned it is important to question ideas that are based on theory, but do not expound on how the explanation fits the theory.
