Introduction
Social media has taken up a significant amount of the general public’s daily life. Facebook has become the most popular social media platform in the world. It is majorly used as sharing stories, posting photos to keep updated with others from texts, photos and videos. Face book was created by Mark Zuckerberg along with his friend, both from Harvard University. Facebook's success can be attributed to its ability to appeal to both people and businesses and its ability to interact with sites around the web by providing a single login that works across multiple sites.
Indeed, facebook is a navigator of social media. Facebook not only expands circle for its users, but also help people easily access to multiple organizations or business which achieves individual value. Mark Zuckerberg has globalized view to launch the Facebook to the world, to help multiple cultural backgrounds people meeting here, empower them to express and communicate with. Unfortunately, the privacy of our security is worth concerning. Facebook claims that there would a recording of all history logs when you use it, including the message communicate with others, private information, usage and device detail. The Facebook authority states that the purpose of information collection is to create personalize for product improvement. However, there is a news published that shocked the world. Facebook was revealed security scandal in 2018, over 50 million user accounts information leaked. The data was exposed to public by a Mexico-based media company, which is responsible for the biggest leak. In addition to this; there are two third-parties Facebook app developers involved, causing another major data breach for the world’s biggest social network. Since then, social network reveals that the safety issue escalated, the attacker take over user account through the bugs, which means the victims all information may be exposed to the public. Facebook also confirmed that the third-party sites that that user logged into with their Facebook accounts could be affected. Instagram for example, claims that through tracking an individual's media consumption, they are able to recommend accounts and show ads that are relevant to the users wants and needs, therefore eliminating all the ‘junk’ that would otherwise permeate their feeds. In this case, the Instagram algorithm is assisting the consumer in his/her media consumption, as it is able to suggest accounts that we would otherwise have to manually search for. However, Instagrams purpose for the consumer is largely superficial and the same cannot be said for apps and websites that are responsible for the distribution of news and information. Even if instagram is relied upon by the users it fails to take into consideration the privacy matters of the accounts of the users.
