Quality management has become useful in many years back. Business managers are faced with multitude approaches such as EFQM, TQMand Six Sigma. Therefore, those in management are busy in the selection of the most appropriate method for attaining the quality set objectives and goals as outlined in the entity strategic plan. In any business today customers’ demand quality goods and services.Organizational managers have been forced tostrategize ways to use the strengths of variousmethodologies to improve business developments. Thus, consumer can influence the use of various quality management approaches within the enterprise.
The main objective of this research paper is to study the principles, similarities and differences, in regard to a comprehensive integration of EFQM or rather the kaizen principles, six sigma and TQM. In addition, this aims to comprehend whether there are additional benefits for the corporations that are using both approaches. The models are structured in a way that they complement each other (Bititci &Nudurupati, 2012).
European foundation for quality management is not for profit making organization. It provides a platform for self-assessment; it measures the strengths weakness of an entity in the production cycle. The comprehensible and wide assumption of what is required is provided for the benefit of managing anorganization. It was developed in 1988 by fourteen well-established European companies. The mission was to increase competition, performance and achievement among the organizations in Europe and the entire world. EQFM was established based on critical principles and values which are necessary for collective organization performance. The principles were derived from the total quality management. The model advocates use of a standard model of management able to bring excellence in a company. Excellence is achieved through better leadership skills and styles which satisfyemployees, customer and the shareholders, which triggers and catalyzes organization plans, stewardship of resources, staff and developments. Theorganization proficiency to deal with all those aspects effectively will depend on the level of excellence (Alan, 2013). In addition, employee training and development will lead to high levels of performance. The diagram below illustrates the summary of the model. It incorporates nine main principles that are; good leadership, strategy plan, staff, resources, outcome of the personnel, customer and the community.
 The approach enables the organization to identify key areas of strength and weakness. It further facilitates communication effectively within the company. Application of the model is long-term strategic tool where all entity aspects can be supervised, evaluated and modified. Moreover, for an organization to benefit from the model, it should be applied effectively.
