Students are required to advise their topic and three themes to their Tutors by 5pm (AEST) Monday 10 October, Week 5. Following approval from Tutors – students can proceed. This is to ensure that students have selected a topic and themes that have resources available. Your essay must address your topic in the following way: • Its formation or start and the conditions leading to it • Its activities/programs in terms of all of its relationships • These relationships could include artists and creative personnel, audiences, viewers, users, members, funders, sponsors, donors, colleagues, competitors and any other stakeholders and constituents • How it has changed and developed over time • Its relationship to three themes discussed during the course eg climate change, rise of private museums in the region, feminism, soft power, etc Your essay presentation should follow the academic conventions and include: • A covering page with your name, zID, course details and the essay title • An introduction, where your essay topic and three themes are explicitly addressed • A body of text where you will discuss your case studies and develop your argument through critical analysis and interpretation. Different sections of the text should be signposted by subheadings.
