Research Paper Instructions:

My Topic: The Effects of Social Media on Teens
Your final Research Paper is a culmination of all of the information we have been providing to you each unit, plus a title page, literature review, discussion section, and reference page. This will be about 5 pages long (including title and references) and will resemble and follow the structure of a very brief but standard APA-Style research paper. It will look like a mixture between a research paper and an outline of a research paper. It will follow APA style.
1.Compilation and organization of all new and previous information into the format of an APA-style research paper (that includes the Topic, Hypothesis, IV and DV, sample, operationalizations, procedure, and results provided to you), plus the following that you will create: a discussion, literature review, title page, and reference section.
2.Making sure your paper is written clearly, professionally, and in APA-style, including a title-page and reference page. Please proofread your paper and ensure that there are no typos.
3.Please include a literature review of three peer-reviewed articles from an online database that are relevant to your hypothesis. For each article, include the following in a single paragraph:
a. Date
b. Author

f. How the IV and DV are operationalized
g. Design (qualitative or quantitative)

Then, in a fourth paragraph, discuss the similarities and differences among the three articles.
4. Including a discussion section in paragraph format, including:
a. Whether or not your hypothesis was supported (based on your analysis of data), and the implications of that
b. How your findings compare to previous research, providing reasons for any discrepancies
c. The limitations of your study
d. Suggestions for future studies
e. A brief, take-home, conclusion
(To The writer: I have uploaded a sample of a mini-research paper that the professor give for us to follow on structure).

Literature review
Wood, Bukowski, and Lis wanted to enlighten society on the possible effects of social media on youth. They studied the behavior of the child both in the preadolescent stage (10-12 years) and the adolescents (13-17 years). They monitored how and the length of time spent on any medial social platforms for their dependant variable to measure their impacts on the emotional wellbeing of the adolescents. According to the hypothesis, social media has positive effects on adolescents using it with the conscience that it could harm them and negative impacts on those posting and following creations recklessly. The results of the study indicate that social media helps the youth in battling loneliness through the identification of friends, creating and maintaining meaningful intimate relationships. While some teens benefit substantially from social media, the research shows that others develop relational issues with their immediate people around them and end up in terrible and reckless lifestyles due to dependence. Also, social media can impacts boys positively more than girls. Although teens from both genders may use social media on similar platforms and pace, boys tend to benefit more than girls. The study does not provide the reasons for the decisive advantage of social media use on boys and the likelihood of a negative impact on girls despite its substantial support to the hypothesis. We could understand the implications better and gain more knowledge with an explanation of the origin of the varying effect on the different genders. This research is useful to the paper because it shows the results positive and negative impact of social media on teens depending on the time spent and the content in question.
Radovic et al. intended to bridge an understanding of the impact of social media use of depressed adolescents. They researched the use of social media on 23 teens (18 females and 5 males) diagnosed with depression. The hypothesis revealed the use of social media has both positive and negative effects on depressed adolescents compared to teens who kept off the media during such health conditions. The study reveals that searching for positive impacting content for humor, entertainment, and content creations helped the victims battling with depression to cure faster than depending on the medication only for recovery. However, the study found out that engagement has negative impacts on adolescents. Despite the help of a quicker recovery process, social media can indulge risky behaviors such as cyberbullying and generate a self-comparison loop for the teens. Besides, the teens have to share, and the only thing for the ailing individuals could be stressed posting that could iterate to hate feelings and low self-esteem if probably the targeted population did not respond as anticipated. Hence, the medical treatment context shows that the use of social media depressed adolescents is more negatively than positively impacting. However, the study could have presented all ad...
