Introduction
Most evening news in the televisions have a tendency of highlighting Canada as a crime prone country, with Canadian youths as the main perpetrators. Some of the crime cases are discussed below:
* Slaying of Saskatchewan Boy
On September 2013, Lee Allan Bonneau, 6 years was first reported dead on Kahkewistahaw First nation. The person responsible for this death was 12 years old. The murder happened in Odessa, a small village about 60-65km southeast of Regina where these children were living with their families. Bonneau had been living on the reserve with the foster parents for some weeks after they moved with the mother from the Odessa. In that material night, the family had gone for bingo night at Kahkewistahaw sports complex in Canada capital. The murder suspect killed Bonneau leaving him near the woods, some distance away from the sport complex. When the foster mom learned that their boy was missing, they contacted the police to assist in the search. They popped door to door, road to road, building to building; only to find him lying near a wood (Government of Canada, 2013a).

This is because the Canada Youth criminal Act protects charges on juveniles; hence there was no way the police would charge him for the fouls committed despite putting him in custody. In this incident, the media played wide role in speculating and making opinions over the crime. Those closely impacted by the demise could only speculate killer’s fate. Petitions started after rumors that the suspect would go uncharged. For instance, social activist, Alexson called upon community patrol and curfew to upgrade safety on the reserve in order to reduce the levels of crimes. Still, the posted in the Kahkewistahaw First Nation Facebook page that, "kids should be shown what is right and wrong since some are rude, hateful and terrible."
* Girl’s ‘Slender Man’ Stabbing
In fateful reports of July 2, 2014, two girls were accused of stabbing a ‘slender man’ whom was their classmate. This was terrible reports to both the administration and the fellow classmates since the suspect had been having a cordial relationship with the deceased for quite long. The incident occurred after the end of the Mathematics session where the trio had an active participation in that class. It was confucius scenario since the real cause of murder could not be established. However, the investigation team in collaboration with the school fraternity was deployed to look into the cause of the whole occurrence (Government of Canada , 2014)..
Nevertheless, one of the suspect, Morgan Geyser was considered incompetent to stand trials, hence her defense team made insanity pleas. The judge then approved a request on Geyser’s mental health examination which could be used to determining her mental status at the time of the attack. However, Geyser’s attorney defended his client by stating that she had not entered a pleas and therefore no probab...
