The 10 Strategic Points

Research Paper Instructions:

The purpose of this assignment is to outline the 10 strategic points that define the intended research focus and approach.
In the DPI Project, there are 10 strategic points that need to be clear, simple, and aligned to ensure that the resulting research is valuable and credible. These key points, which emerge over the course of the research process, will provide a guiding vision for the DPI Project.
General Requirements:
Use the following information to ensure successful completion of the assignment:
Refer to the "10 Strategic Points A Courses" resource located in the DC Network to complete this assignment.
Doctoral learners are required to use the current APA style for their essay writing assignments. The current APA Style Guide is located in the Student Success Center.
This assignment uses a rubric. Please Review the rubric prior to the beginning to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.
You are required to submit this assignment to LopesWrite. A link to the LopesWrite technical support articles is located in Class Resources if you need assistance.
Directions:
Draft statements for each of the 10 strategic points for your intended project, incorporating feedback received on past submissions of the 10 Strategic Points document in previous courses. This assignment is not a paper and should be developed and submitted in a table format.
Benchmark Information:
This benchmark assignment assesses the following programmatic competencies:
DNP
1.2: Apply science-based theories and concepts to determine the nature and significance of health and health care delivery phenomena.
1.3: Employ science-based theories and concepts to describe the actions and advanced strategies to enhance, alleviate, and ameliorate health and health care delivery phenomena as appropriate.

The 10 Strategic Points

Broad Topic Area

1 Broad Topic Area/Title of Project: Improving blood sugar monitoring in patients with T1DM who are currently undergoing rigorous insulin therapy through the application of CGM as a QI.

Literature Review

2 Literature Review:
* Background of the Problem/Gap:
There is a push and pull regarding the best methods to regulate blood sugar levels for people living with type 1 diabetes mellitus. CGM is a relatively new technological approach in managing blood sugar monitoring (Mesa et al., 2020). Its capabilities are somehow superior to the traditional methods historically in use. The method appears to be a solution to the perennial problems faced by T1DM patients in that they can monitor their insulin levels in real-time and do not have to wait to react. CGM is a proactive approach that gained significant ground not so long ago (Mesa et al., 2020). However, challenges still exist on the use of CGM in T1DM patients. Most of the technology’s opponents cite high costs, which is one of the key elements of all decision-making.
Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) allows patients to check their blood sugar levels at any time of day or night. It collects data on glucose levels and speeds up the process of providing patients with more information to help them manage their diabetes (Pettus et al., 2019). Without diabetes, the body’s systems can constantly monitor glucose levels to ensure that the correct amount of insulin is produced, and a CGM works in the same way. A glucose sensor, which is a tiny electrode, is implanted beneath an individual’s skin to monitor glucose levels in tissue fluids using CGM (Polonsky et al., 2017).
Most of the time, it is worn around the middle of the abdomen. The glucose sensor is implanted using a needle and a sticky material that acts as an adhesive, and it should be replaced with a new sensor after a few days. The sensor is connected to a transmitter, which uses a wireless radio frequency to send data to a display device (Kristensen et al., 2019). Thanks to the display monitor, the user will be able to examine current and historical glucose level patterns. It can warn a person when their glucose levels are dangerously high or low, as well as when they decrease or rise suddenly (Polonsky et al., 2017).
* Theoretical Foundations (models and theories to be the foundation for the project):
Evidence-based change model and the Connecting nursing theory will be essential in testing phenomena and guiding the research process.
* Review of Literature with Key Organizing Themes and Sub-themes
Theme 1: The main principles of quality improvement
Sub-theme 1: The main purpose of the QI.
Sub-theme 2: Iterative processes essential in drawing up the changes of ideas
Sub-theme 3: Consistency with regard to the acceptable methodologies
Theme 2: Intervention
Sub-theme 1: Ensuring that both the caregivers and the patients receive sufficient empowerment
Sub-theme 2: Employing evidence-based intervention backed up by data
