I am not an active Facebook user and usually use my account to access news and magazine articles. I have about 60 friends, most of who are close family members, colleagues, former schoolmates and acquaintances who live abroad. I would say I have personal relationships with the vast majority of my Facebook friends whom I know personally and regularly interact with. The few that I consider to have impersonal relationships with are random individuals who I accepted their friendship requests out of politeness, and with whom we rarely chat or interact.
A top factor that affects my appraisal of these Facebook relationships is disclosing.
