It is said that the world is our oyster (Hosseini, 2015), but for most of the people, it is something they see glimpses of on the news. Those who dare to step out of their house and leave the work and worries behind open the doors of endless opportunities for themselves. Staying in one place for long and sticking to my roots has always been exhausting. One day I decided to travel abroad in order to get rid of the day-to-day tensions and problems. I chose Paris as my destination, and it has been one of the most remarkable experiences of my life.
As the capital city of France, Paris is where hundreds to thousands of people might love to go. It is often regarded as the “City of lights” and “City of love” (Dhiman, 2017). Once I was here, I got to realize that in addition to being the hub of fashion, business, and entertainment, Paris is a place where people from different backgrounds, cultures, traditions and religions can be seen working together.
It is home to some of the biggest designer houses like Yves Saint-Laurent, L’Oréal, Christian Dior and Lancôme (Horn). The city attracted me to its vibrant cultures and diversity. I could see people wandering here and there and enjoying time together, without any discrimination, and this helped me find my place in the world.
As a human being, it is my responsibility to respect all the people around. A couple of years ago, things were not the same, and I used to be arrogant and proud. I always prioritized my money over my friends and family. I used to believe that money is the only key to a successful and happy life, but it is not.
