The diversity of Hawaii’s culture is expressed in its music, language, art, films, dance, cuisines, theater and a range of festivals and events. At the core of each lies the spirit of aloha, a word used to greet someone. It is often combined with other words like aloha auinala (meaning good afternoon) and aloha kakahiaka (meaning good morning). As the capital city of Hawaii, Honolulu attracts a large number of tourists every year. It is considered the hub of multinational brands, military defense, museums, restaurants, and a diverse number of theaters (1969). Among the so many attractions of Honolulu is the Hawaii Bishop Museum. Also known as the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum, this museum is devoted to the history of science, technology, and culture of Honolulu, and was founded in the 18th century. In addition to a large number of exhibits, the museum is home to more than 20 million historical specimens; the Richard T. Mamiya Science Adventure Center receives the maximum number of visitors every day.
As an in charge of volunteers’ recruitment of this place, I am responsible for finding out the ways of how to attract more and more people to the Hawaii Bishop Museum.
