Diabetes Diagnosis
Introduction
Deaths from diabetes in the current world are rising on a daily basis. The risks that people get into are high and most people have been advised to get some tests and treatments in advance. The disease does not affect any person irrespective of age. At times, people realize the presence of the disease and may die before treatment (Brill, 2012). The difficulty increases in treating the disease when it is found at advance stages. For such reason, there has been various research year in and out to find if the disease could be detected early. The two types, Type 1 and 2 re not easily differentiable. The research has been successful at University of Exeter where scientists can now discover the presence of the disease at an early stage (University of Exeter, 2015). This paper analyses how the invention by Exeter University can improve and differentiate the difference between diabetes Type 1 and Type 2.Besides, it will show ways in which health experts can intervene and bring in a solution to the patient.
Research and Results
According to the Journal of Diabetes Cares highlight that DNA tests can lead to some diabetes results. Afterwards, doctors can find out if a child is vulnerable of contracting any of the types of diabetes. The need comes because of the increasing level of obesity in children. Current lifestyle features result into cases of obesity (University of Exeter, 2015). Obesity is found to be complicating diagnostics. From that, research shows that testing the DNA is a sure way of coming up with proofs of vulnerability to contracting the disease (Valeriya & Laakso, 2013). The Type 1 diabetes is treated by insulin injection while Type 2 meets the dietary and weight loss recommendations (SB Communications Group, 2014).
DNA tests helps in finding out the types of diabetes. This research is motivated by problems that come with wrong diagnosis which leads to wrong treatment (Grave, 1979). At the University of Exeter Medical School, researchers came up with this technique. It combined genetic variants in DNA to evaluate the risks involved in treatment (University of Exeter, 2015). Having found the type of DNA in them, the results would point to the ease or difficulty with which treatment comes. The ease or difficulty was connected to some type of diabetes.
Two results emerged from their hypothesis and tests. Some people who were found to have a specific type of diabetes had difficulty in recovering while getting treatment. Some had the ease with which their conditions could be maintained. Using the same types of treatment in one sample and another in another treatment, they found differentiated the different groups into types of diabetes (University of Exeter, 2015). Further discovery to find the DNA would bring in the classification into the groups which concurred with their hypothesis. They had hypothesized that the Type 1 diabetes would be difficult to treat by insulin injection (Brill, 2012)...
