In the study "Presurgical Skin Preparation with a Novel, 2% Chlorhexidine Gluconate Cloth Reduces Rates of Surgical Site Infection in Orthopaedic Surgical Patients," Eiselt argues that SSIs are common complications in joint surgery. The article claims that using appropriate preoperative skin antiseptic is vital. Eiselt purpose in the study is to examine the effectiveness of using 2% CHG without rinsing off the night before the operation.
