How Skeletal, Muscular, and Nervous Systems Work

In modules 4, 5, 6, and 7, you learned about the skeletal system, joints, muscular system and nervous system. While all body systems work together to maintain homeostasis, these body systems particularly work closely together. It's important to reflect on what you've learned and be able to apply this knowledge to understand how these body systems work.
For this assignment, create a document. Be as creative as you want with this! Add colors, pictures, diagrams, etc. as needed.
Your assignment will be designed for the general public or medical patients. YOU choose the audience! Some possible examples of an audience include, but are not limited to: Your fellow APHY101 students preparing for a test, your TikTok followers, your patients, your children, your aging grandparents, your colleagues at work, etc. (choose patients as the audience)
Be sure to state in your assignment which audience(patients) you have designed the assignment for.
In your assignment, choose 5 exercises. One example of a type of exercise that could be used for this would be a bicep curl.
For each exercise, describe:
The type of movement and how to do this movement (pictures are great!)
Which bones are involved in the movement
Which joint or joints are involved in the movement
The functional and structural classification of the joint used
The type of joint movement used (adduction, abduction, rotation, flexion, extension, circumduction, protraction, retraction, plantarflexion, etc-refer to the types of joint movements in chapter 8, section 8.2)
The muscles involved in the movement
Explain the process that occurs in the nervous system from the time you decide to do the movement to how that electrical impulse makes its way to the muscle causing the movement. Explain the role of the central nervous system, peripheral nervous system, neurons and neurotransmitters. (You do NOT have to get into detail about the membrane potential for this assignment). Pages 129-130 in your text will be helpful to guide you on this part. (Note, you will have just ONE answer for this question. You do not need to include this answer with each individual movement).
Include a minimum of 3 references for your information (these can be on a separate page if you'd like). References must be formatted in APA format. You can find help and examples for APA format in the student resources module.
