Duke University Hospital is considered one of the best hospitals in the United States (Duke University Hospital, n.d.). My assessment of the organization’s culture and readiness for evidence-based practice (EBP) reveals that the organization is ready for EBP implementation. The readiness survey gave a 75% score. Specifically, the organization scores high in terms of the nursing staff commitment to EBP, availability of doctorally prepared nurses who generate evidence, and the availability of EBP champions at different levels of the organization. The hospital is also ready when it comes to resources. With 957 inpatient beds, about 11000 employees as well as financial capabilities, the hospital has enough resources to facilitate EBP implementation (Duke Health, n.d.). The organization thus ranks highly in organizational readiness, staff readiness, and resources readiness.
