Community Socio Ecologic Model in Lesotho
Education in Lesotho has been one of the key elements that is helping the community to fight the scourge of HIV/AIDS. Since more youths are receiving sex education; there has been an observable change in the levels of infections among the people relative to behavioral changes. They are able to understand how they can protect themselves and more importantly, how they can stop the spread and live healthy if they are already infected.
The Lesotho national AIDS strategy has largely focused on the youths who are the most affected by the scourge. To handle this, the education programs have been very specific on helping the youths between 15 and 24 years of age make behavioral changes. One of the key programs that have been quite effective is the Kick 4 Life ("HIV and AIDS in Lesotho", 2018). This is a campaign that uses football to reach out to the youths. Through the campaign, the prevention messages can be floated to the young people.
