Cognitive Development in Film and Television
In most interactions and experiences, cognitive development and cognition is ever growing. Our involvement in, not only our cognitive development, but also that of others, is often taken for granted. The film Trolls demonstrates the concept of collaboration in cognitive development and employs perception as well as thinking, reasoning and decision making in its entirety.
The film Trolls at first glance looks like a childish film with all the pomp, color and sing-song nature in it. Initially, decisions made by Branch are a result of his thinking and reasoning after losing his grandmother who had been taken in front of him while saving his life. Branch's dullness was as a result of constant self-blame that he even swore off joy and happiness that was the core value of the troll community. However, through an interactive experience with Poppy, the princess troll, he is able to conform to a different thought, reason and decision making process that changes him completely.             Branch as a character implicitly implies the theme of thinking, reasoning and decision making in the cognitive development of an individual.
