 Hanna Andersson was started as a family-owned and -operated business selling European-style children’s clothing in the US. Tom and Gun Denhart started the line of children’s clothing where they distributed imported Swedish clothing in 29 retail stores and specialty retailers (Lumin learning). In 1995, the co-founders recognized they need to change and promoted managers from within the company. The company entered into the wholesale market, but still, there was the emphasis on employee benefit, working with the community, and sustainability.
Planning targets mapping out strategies to achieve set goals, and Hanna Andersson’s managers and leaders helped to steer the firm in new directions during expansion. The company’s vision, mission, goals, and objectives are essential to planning. Hanna Andersson’s employees embraced change, and there has been continued retail and online sales growth. The company’s founders further promoted a social vision where there are close working relations with the community and a focus on work-life balance.
