The film or documentary titled Outrage was directed by Kirby Dick. The film revolves around the idea that there are some politicians who are part of the LGBTQ community but seem to be hiding or living in fear of embracing who they are. These politicians, the film posits, seem to have been involved in pushing for anti-gay legislations even though they know they are only making their own lives difficult. By using the names of people like Ed Koch, Ken Mehlman, and Larry Craig, Kirby tries to showcase how politicians often live closeted lives while supporting or pushing for tough or unfriendly gay laws.
