In the global context, the society is dominated by masculine ideologies and reasoning thereby giving women less if not recognizing their contribution. From what is happening around the world, it is very true to say that women do a lot of work that goes unrecognized and or given the equivalent credit. A greater percentage of the house chores are done by the women yet men get the credit of whatever good that comes out of the home. It is, therefore, right to say that the world is somehow skewed against women. In the field of geography, women have not been given the deserved credit even though their knowledge and resources contributed to the same knowledge base. For instance, women were discouraged and or forbidden from joining the Royal Geographical Societies or their contribution was not welcome. Feminist Geographies can be said to advocate for the recognition of women into the discipline since they have been ignored for a long time. Feminist Geographies per se have contributed much to the current knowledge base in geography. Through it the geographies of fear and mobility were discovered. The geographies of nature and development too were discovered and given more emphasis.

In the world, the knowledge base in the sciences are said to be based on objectivity and mostly the ideas presented are dominated the males reasoning as this is said to be ‘objective.'
