Sleep Disruption and its Consequences

There is a significant body of literature about sleep and its impact on brain activity. Most of these studies confirm that sleep is directly related to neural processes. Medic and colleagues (2017) further explore the link between insufficient sleep and health issues that are prevalent in modern populations. The authors do an excellent in explaining the concept of sleep disruption, the short term and the long term consequences of sleep disruption.
While the authors utilize excellent up-to-date peer-reviewed sources, the methodology section is underdeveloped. The section fails to clearly outline the search strategy in terms of the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The authors note that several studies have been conducted on the topic and thus it would be helpful to know the criteria they used to isolate some sources from the others. In addition, the authors do not highlight any challenges they faced in collecting the information and how they overcame it.
