Summary
Brain images are perceived to have a great impact in the manner in which the human mind perceives information. This explains the reason as to why scientific research that has images to expound on the data are best understood as compared to the data that has no images or is rather presented using graphs. The mind has a great ability to remember the information presented through the use of images. The article outlines three experiments which further explain the idea that the inclusion of images in articles to present neuroscience research results to a higher rating of such articles. This is in contrary to neuroscience information that is presented without the use of images or simply through the use of graphs. In addition, the brain images turn out to be more persuasive than any other items used in the presentation of the brain activity. The reason behind this finding is that the brain images provide individuals with a physical explanation for the cognitive process that takes place in the human mind. Although there might be negative impacts of using brain images to pass across information about neuroscience research, their benefits outweigh such negatives hence making the use of images a conducive way of enhancing the people's ability to comprehend information. In addition, neuroscientists are advocating for the inclusion of the media to help in the discussion of the various limitations faced by MRI so as to reduce the possibility of the misinterpretation of the data (McCabe & Castel, 2008).
