I was fascinated to learn that human verbal communication operates at numerous contrasting abstraction levels (Salen & Zimmerman, 2006). In that light, it made me question how people communicate and how many ideas run in their minds before they comment about something. Does it mean that before a person says something, he or she has multiple permutations of ideas and picks the best? For example, what contributes to an individual’s choice of the movie that one wants to watch in the theater? All these questions enabled me to understand that human verbal communication is a complex process, but without it, people would not interact with each other.
