how I being a young gay man in San Francisco in the summer of 2004 contracted HIV from anonyms sex with lots of guys. never using condoms. I was coming from a small town in Oregon at the age of 18 in 1999 just after dropping out of high school. I moved to San Francisco with dreams of growing medical marijuana in California and being able to live free able to find love. I was a young queer kid that needed to escape hick town country life of southwest Oregon. I started out sleeping in my car and to get clean and shower with a place to stay. I would sleep with whoever was around as long as they could host. now that I am 41 years old and just completed my GED. I am applying for scholarships with a medical disability known as HIV.

I grew up in Oregon and belonged to a huge family that was cared for by a single parent. Our mother was hardworking, but we still faced several challenges. Therefore, as an older child, I had to start working young to support the household. In form two, I could contribute to my fees and save money. During my years in secondary school, I realized that I was attracted to boys, not girls. When I informed my mother, siblings, and friends about my awareness of being gay, they were disappointed. Since then, they disregarded my dreams and visions and fueled my desire to leave the town. The information about my sexuality reached school, and bullying became severe.
I lost my job, and the situation at home became worse. I tried to present several ideas for raising money, but nobody was willing to listen. I persisted with education, but by 1999 my efforts proved futile, and I dropped out of school at 18. I purchased a second-hand car with my little savings and left for San Francisco. In this new city, I promised myself to lead a better life than the one in the hick town country life of Southwest Oregon. I dreamed of growing and selling medical marijuana to attain freedom and find love. However, I would later find that the reality of life was far beyond my comprehension.
