Persuasive Advertising Analysis
“Sunshine” ad by the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) touches a viewer’s heart in different ways. Indeed, it incorporates logos, ethos, and pathos. The ad uses pathos at the beginning, where a picture of a helpless mother holding her sick child is depicted. In addition, logos is used to reveal how children from different backgrounds need vaccines and other medications to survive. However, their communities require financial assistance to improve the health outcomes of their young individuals. Ethos is used when Alyssa Milano, the UNICEF’s Ambassador, pleads with viewers to donate at least $15 per month to reduce the mortality of children by ensuring they can get vaccines and other medications they might need while growing up (UNICEF USA, 2016).
