Understanding of Pisa Griffin

Due Wednesday. Look for an Aniconism art work and write a paper on it using the Aniconism Template Attachment. Also when describing the art work use some of the word from the Key terms and Element and principle attachment. Don't just use the word but describe that word as it pertains to the art. What shading, which colors ie the red and white, the grays etc. , what shadows etc. have to be used. Pay special attention to the Template.

First Paragraph: Research and IDENTIFY one example of an aniconic work created for religious purposes. Briefly describe the culture where it came from and when it was created. Remember that ‘Aniconism’ is the belief in not using or worshipping images of deities. Judaism, Buddhism, Islam, and Protestantism are all examples of religions that practice varying degrees of aniconism.

Second Paragraph: at ANALYZE one key ELEMENT and one key PRINCIPLE OF ART in the work. Describe what role the element and principle play in the composition. Use the elements and principles of art as the foundation in this paragraph, supplementing your writing with learned art terminology.

Third Paragraph: RESPOND to the FOLOWING QUESTIONS: Does the lack of religious icons take away from the spiritual experience? Why or why not? Why do you think some religions would steer away from this? The response to these questions should be based on your research and not on your personal beliefs.
